Welcome

Welcome to the Social Development Research Lab, which is led by Dr. Rachael Robnett. We are part of the Department of Psychology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Our work identifies links between human development and social forces such as socialization, stereotyping, and social structures. One line of research focuses on academic identity and career preferences. In particular, our research seeks to shed light on why women and members of some ethnic groups are not well represented in fields related to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). A second line of research focuses on gender development and gender-role ideologies. We are interested in the associations between these constructs and individuals’ preferences in romantic relationships.
